Spencer Doar joined 3Points in September 2019 as a content strategist, and is now the Fintech Practice Lead. Spencer leads 3Points' fintech practice, conceptualizes and drafts content for fintech clients, and aids the development of new business opportunities.

 

Before joining 3Points, Spencer was an editor with John Lothian News, where he was responsible for working the options beat. In his four-plus years there, Spencer had a chance to hit the derivatives industry conference circuit, curate the daily JLN Options Newsletter, and host a weekly web series recapping notable news in the derivatives space. During his tenure, he interviewed scores of c-suite executives and upper management from exchanges, market makers, and technology providers. 

 

Spencer is a born and bred Chicagoan who had a lengthy stint in the frozen north while he acquired his B.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota. He can man a grill with the best and cuss with the worst. When not wandering West Town listening to history-focused podcasts, Spencer can be found talking Chicago sports with his neighbors.
